HELEN THOMSON

Soprano

Helen Thomson's activities have included a stint with The Song Company, touring Gesualdo's Tenebrae Responsories for Holy Week to the Adelaide Festival in 1996, solo and ensemble work with Judith Clingan in the premieres of Nganbra and Adam's Rib? as well as in forthcoming recordings, a programme of solo and duet work with Riley Lee, Grand Master of Shakuhachi, and solo and production work on past and forthcoming performances of Q Vocal Ensemble. She has also been engaged as a soloist by Schola Cantorum, Early Voices, the Australian Chamber Singers, ANU Choral Society, and the Canberra Bach Ensemble, and has performed in a number of freelance solo recitals.

Currently, Helen is the principal vocal Scholar at Newman College, a freelance vocal teacher, and a member of Q, Floreat, and e21. She is studying for a Masters degree in Music under Stephen Grant and Merlyn Quaife, and specialises in early and contemporary music both as a soloist and ensemblist.
