PAUL ROEBUCK

Paul Roebuck is currently Artistic Director for the Melbourne Shakespeare Festival and President of the Melbourne Shakespeare Society. He is also working professionally with the Chambers Theatre Company, taking the role of the Reverend Eli Jenkins in their current production of Under Milk Wood, performed with the Melbourne Welsh Male Choir.
His first work with Musica Intima was with Grantley McDonald in The Anatomy of Melancholy. Paul's previous work has included performing with The Young Elizabethan Players touring NSW and Queensland, performing the role of Macbeth in The Scottish Play at Sydney's Independent Theatre, working for ABC Television and Radio and Film Australia in Sydney, and lecturing in Drama and Theatre Studies at Melbourne State College.
Three and a half years ago, Paul initiated the reading of the complete plays of Shakespeare in chronological order with full text. The first phase of 39 monthly readings will be completed in December of this year. The second phase (to take four years, including associated plays) will commence in January 2003.
