Susan Hamerton
Violinist
Susan Hamerton studied violin at the University of Melbourne and the Victorian College of the Arts before travelling to Cologne, Germany where she was a student of Helfried Fister for two years. During that time she toured to Scandinavia, France and Italy as a member of the Cologne Symphony and as a soloist with the Heidelberg Chamber Orchestra. In 1989 she relocated to London for ten years where she worked with the London Mozart Players and The City of London Sinfonia, enjoyed teaching, giving solo recitals and performing contemporary British music as leader of the Mercier String Quartet. She is currently living in Melbourne.
